My car choices are often an amalgam of contradictions, days after buying a new car I can already be found, head in the classifieds, pondering what might come next. I might eschew certain cars on grounds of comfort, space or lack of pace or any erroneous minor failing, only to go out and purchase one that logically has worse aspects of all of the above. Witness a recent family car decision which sidelined E-Class estates as being rather bargelike, yet allowing cars like a Land Rover Defender to still make the shortlist - utter nonsense.

There are, thankfully, few cars that I regret having bought (although there are certainly some I would not necessarily buy again) so I think I can be happy with the history but always will be looking forwards. Life would be dull if we had nothing to ponder and nothing to focus on however; so the search continues ad infinitum and I am comfortable with that, let's face it, I have to be.
