About Me and My Cars
Cars are one of my vices, possibly my worst vice. I can't leave them alone. I'm bad at buying them, I find them hard to resist once I've decided I want one. I'm even worse at selling them, I rarely do. I'm happiest driving them.
My daily smoker is the Mercedes-Benz. If I had only one car, it would be this one. My passions are TVR and Lamborghini - both are, or rather WERE, "one man's vision" marques. I happen to subscribe to the visions of both Peter Wheeler and Ferruccio Lamborghini. The Granada is a car I've kept since I was 19 - it was my first 'proper' car.
I bought the Bentley when I was looking for a Vitesse Convertible to go to the Goodwood Revival. I got distracted. The Toyotas were development cars for forced induction versions of the 1ZZ and 2ZZ engines in Lotuses. The MR2 is turbocharged, the Corolla supercharged. The Elise SP-T has a development of the MR2's 1ZZ motor in it: 260bhp/220lb/ft - it's quick.
I race historic sports cars including a 700bhp Thunder Road Cobra; a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1, a 1965 MGB V8 and a 1966 Ginetta G4.
