About Me and My Cars
I've had a thing for Yank V8 engines for as long as I can remember, and developed a love of plastic-bodied cars thanks to owning a series of bio-degradable Fords! Don't get me wrong: the Escort and the Capris were fun, but I felt that my Ku-rust purchases were keeping Halfords in business... My first plastic V8 car was a Griffith 500 (sitting in an early 390SE as a student convinced me I needed a TVR) but it was so laughably unreliable that it just had to go. After a stint in a Mondeo 24v, I finally returned to V8 motoring with a Camaro Z/28 which was cheap and great fun - sometimes for the right reasons and sometimes for the wrong reasons (like when switches disappeared into the dashboard!). One nice, juicy commission cheque later and it was time to move up to a Corvette C5 convertible, a wonderful car that took 15K miles a year in its stride as a daily driver. A misguided 4-year stint in a BMW Z4 followed, before I finally decided it was time for some more small-block action with a Corvette C6 convertible, which is my current daily driver.
